I've had a few people react to what I wrote in my guide, "4 Goal Setting Styles". Some of what I've heard has been positive and expressions of gratitude. Some have expressed surprise at learning that there are different ways to set goals, all of which can be effective.
But one of the most interesting reactions I've received comes from people who have never even heard of the X, Y, Z Method of goal setting. Some have shared with me that they had no idea goal setting could be so direct, so concise, and so quick. They always thought goal setting had to be a long, challenging process that takes a lot of time.
As I share in my guide, the X, Y, Z method of goal setting has the advantage of being simple and easy to use. It does not take a lot of deep thinking and reflection. There genuinely is not any need to sit for long periods of time reflecting and writing and crafting just the exact goal statement.
There are, of course, disadvantages to the X, Y, Z method. It is not the end-all-be-all approach that works well in every situation. There are times we need to sit down, reflect deeply, and take time to craft more comprehensive statements for our goals. In those instances the X, Y, Z method would not be the best choice.
If you're wondering just exactly what the X, Y, Z method is all about - how you use it and when it is most useful - then click on the link and get a copy of my free guide, "4 Goal Setting Styles" for yourself!
